Our History

Located in the heart of Central Minnesota’s beautiful Brainerd Lakes Area, MINNESOTA AUTOMATION was incorporated in September 1978 with just three employees. The focus of the company was building special machinery and modifying and retrofitting existing machinery.

In 1991 Riverwood International Corporation acquired Minnesota Automation, adding it to its world-wide engineering and manufacturing operations. In 2003 Riverwood merged with Graphic Packaging to form GRAPHIC PACKAGING INTERNATIONAL, INC.

The Crosby, Minnesota facility supports Graphic Packaging International’s beverage carton business as the primary manufacturer of bottle and can multi-pack machines, including the highly successful Twin-Stack™ machine. These beverage packaging machines are marketed through the Beverage Carton Sales group in Graphic Packaging International’s Marietta, Georgia office.

The Crosby facility markets, engineers, manufactures and assembles the MINNESOTA AUTOMATION products.

Now in its 30th year, MINNESOTA AUTOMATION's customer list includes manufacturers in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, tobacco, household, printing, plastics and converting industries. Over 2,000 machines have been installed at more than 400 domestic and international companies.
