Graphic Packaging's Crosby, Minnesota facility supports the beverage carton business as the primary manufacturer of bottle and can multi-pack machines, as well as marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and assembling the Minnesota Automation product line of packaging machinery.
The MINNESOTA AUTOMATION product line consists of a wide variety of standard and custom packaging machines, many of which have patented features. The product line includes:
-TRAY DENESTING EQUIPMENT: For denesting paperboard, plastic, foil or foam trays or clamshells.
-CLAMSHELL LABELING: High speed system for denesting, labeling, counting and restacking clamshells.
-INSERTING MACHINES: For feeding and inserting coupons, labels, literature, leaflets, paperboard, and other stackable products.
-LEAFLET ONSERTERS OR OUTSERTERS: For gluing or taping leaflets onto the top or side of bottles or cans.
-ROTARY CARTON ERECTORS: For new or retrofit cartoners.
-HANG TAG APPLICATORS: For applying various hang tag shapes and styles onto bottles, cans, or other cylindrical containers.
-SLEEVERS: Intermittent or continuous motion, single lane, dual lane, or stacked for tubs and trays, glue or lock closure.
-CARTONERS: Custom intermittent or continuous motion cartoners for automatic carton erecting, transfer, and closure for a variety of products.
Located in the heart of Central Minnesota, MINNESOTA AUTOMATION was incorporated in September 1978. In 1991 Riverwood International Corporation acquired Minnesota Automation, adding it to its world-wide engineering and manufacturing operations. In 2003 Riverwood merged with Graphic Packaging to form GRAPHIC PACKAGING INTERNATIONAL, INC.
