Back Card Applicator System
|
Back carding of convenience foods is a cost-effective, yet shelf-appealing method for displaying products in the retail environment. This wash down* back carding system applies paperboard back cards to thermoformed trays at 130 trays per minute.
Trays enter the system randomly spaced with the top facing up. The trays are inverted 180 degrees by a belt system for proper orientation for downstream processes. Trays are detected by photo eyes that signal the hot melt glue system to apply glue to the tray. The servo driven rotary vacuum placer picks and applies a back card to the trays with high placement accuracy. Trays travel under a compression wheel and are discharged.
Graphic Packaging has been designing and manufacturing these customized back card systems for many years to some of the largest food manufacturers. With the ability to supply both the back cards and the machinery, we enable our customers a single source supply for their packaging line needs.
*System is wash down except for rotary head (due to component availability), however, head can be bagged during wash down.
