Rotary Hang Tag Applicator

This rotary hang tag applicator automatically places coated paperboard hang tags onto three sizes of beverage bottles at speeds from 150 to 300 placements per minute, depending upon bottle size. Unique to this applicator is the customized manner in which it places and attaches the hang tags to the bottles. As bottles are fed into the infeed timing screw, a photo eye signals the rotary applicator to pick a hang tag which travels on the rotary head to a hot melt glue station where it is guided down the side of the bottle by the flight system. This enables the tag to be attached to the bottle at two points to ensure stability during transportation until it reaches the store shelves. Three timing screws with quick-change mounts present the 32 ounce, 48 ounce, and 64 ounce plastic bottles to the rotary head for accurate placement by the patented, four-arm advancing cam motion rotary vacuum placer. Nema 4X electrics accompanied by controls for no product – no placement, upstream and downstream surge control, and high-low speed controls provide the line flexibility required.
