Multi-Pack Tub Sleever

When a major food supplier needed packaging for a new line of food, the challenge was to find a reliable way to handle the product in preparation for sleeving. The solution was a custom-designed sleever that wraps twin packs of plastic food tubs at speeds of 150 packs per minute. The sleever is unique in that a lid placer was integrated into the sleever to apply plastic lids onto the plastic tubs prior to tub selection, bar code scanning of wrap, wrapping of tubs, gluing and discharge. By having one company responsible for the sleever machinery as well as the paperboard sleeve, there is greater accountability plus improved efficiency in both production and pricing. This is another example of how Graphic Packaging listened to the customer’s needs, effectively designed a customized sleeving machine and shipped “on time” to meet their expectations.
