Rotary Labeling System with Bar Code Scanning

This rotary labeling system is an example of an OEM requiring a customized automated secondary packaging solution for the needs of their customer. The machine concept was developed by our team which integrated modular components customized to allow for application of pressure sensitive labels onto various sizes of corrugated sheets at 200 placements per minute with bar code scanning, counting and shingling. The patented advancing cam motion rotary places corrugated sheets onto a vacuum conveyor for labeling. Continuous label supply is attained as the second labeler will automatically label when the first labeler supply is depleted. The vacuum conveyor transports the sheet under the bar code scanner for inspection of the proper bar code. If the bar code is missing or incorrect, the reject diverter moves the sheet 1”+ to the operator side of the shingling conveyor for removal. The correctly labeled sheets are deposited onto the shingling conveyor in counts of 100 for collection by the operator for downstream operations. Control options for various bar code read capabilities are incorporated this system along with controls for no sheet/no label and sheet counter/diverter. This machinery solution enabled the customer cost savings due to improved line efficiencies, reduction of manual labor and increased production.		View this Machine in Motion
